Well, it's that time again...ODTUG Board elections. I can't believe it's been two years since the stars aligned and I was allowed to represent the ODTUG members.
So, after careful consideration, I've decided to run for re-election.
Here's what's going on the ballot...
In January of 2010, the membership of ODTUG saw fit to place me on the Board of Directors. It was, and continues to be, a tremendous honor to serve with the other members of the Board in charting the future course of the organization. True, it involves considerable sacrifice, but ODTUG is worth it – you’re worth it.
If you recall in 2010 I promised to work tirelessly in recruiting new members and to relentlessly encourage existing members to become more involved. I’m proud to say we’ve accomplished these goals. For example, the last two KScope conferences, Washington and Long Beach, where I served as Content Chair, we experienced huge gains in both attendance and in the number of abstracts submitted. As a result, the last two conferences are recognized as the two most successful in ODTUG history. It was that June evening aboard the Queen Mary under an umbrella of fireworks that I made my decision to run for re-election.
I ask you for the opportunity to continue to fill the seat I’ve occupied these last twenty-four months. I have the desire, the dedication, and now the experience to best represent you and your interests. There are others in this campaign with longer pedigrees, fellow incumbents, perhaps a few household names, but this vote remains more about the next two years than the last two. This vote is more about the future of ODTUG and less about our storied past.
I look forward to your support.
Our journey continues...
